Hello! My name is Sabine Linn (she/her). Driven by a passion for creativity and innovation, I bring a diverse range of professional skills to the field of art and culture. With a contemporary perspective on art and cultural history such as diversity, inclusion, and decoloniality, I engage with current discourses and movements to open new perspectives and inspire reflection. I have worked on exhibitions and projects dedicated to both modern and contemporary art. My skills include curating and presenting artworks, as well as planning and executing art, design and cultural projects, events, and educational activities at museums, galleries, and other cultural institutions. Currently I am open to job opportunities in Germany and worldwide.
My expertise encompasses the curation and project management - including research, conceptualization, planning and execution - of art exhibitions as well as art and cultural projects with focus on modern and contemporary Global African Arts.
In my profession, I work at the intersection of contemporary art and culture, linking the local with the global. I ensure the smooth execution of projects, from the initial idea to successful implementation. I collaborate closely with artists, scholars, and institutions to realize creative, innovative and relevant projects that reflect the cultural richness and complexity of global art and diasporic identities. Through transcultural exchange, I aim to promote the diversity of worldviews, histories, aesthetics and their acceptance and appreciation.
My goal is through mindful collaboration, to realize cultural projects that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also stimulate and enrich social discourse and contribute to processes of decolonization.
Already during and after completing my Master of Arts in African Studies (Art, Social and Cultural Sciences) with a focus on Curatorial Studies & Art History and Social & Cultural Anthropology at University of Bayreuth, I have curated and managed selected art exhibitions as well as art and cultural projects at Iwalewahaus / University of Bayreuth (incl. conception, planning and organization) with a focus on modern and contemporary Global African Arts. I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography & Imaging at the renowned Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
In addition, I have many years of professional work experience in the arts and creative fields in major cities of the Global North and South, including fifteen years in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York and several years of work experience on the African continent in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Namibia.
